really that's it. i'm in pain and i'm sick of washing my hair every day. there are fourteen glorious inches of snow in my neighborhood but my foot really does not appreciate walking on uneven, ice-slushy paths. this morning when the subway train roared up, icy muddy water flew off the three inches of melting snow atop the cars and splashed everyone standing on the platform. that woke me up right quick. it was amusing but i don't think that's going to get me through the day. so it's off to the pharmacy, then.

i'm guess plantar fascitis is similar to plantar warts.

if so, me & you both, sister.

ah, not quite. plantar fascitis is when the sheath of muscles/tendons along the bottom of the foot become inflamed. more particularly, the fascia becomes inflamed, which is the connective tissue between the muscles and everything else. the pain can manifest anywhere along the foot; mine is on the side of my foot, an inch or two before the heel.

i did have plantar warts when i was in middle school, though i didn't know what they were. i would use nail clippers to pull out the little roots of them, i thought it was fun. eventually i guess i sliced and pulled enough out, and they went away.

we can have a plantar pain club, though. fascitis or warts, it all sucks.

you're the second person who sliced & pulled with nail clippers that this method worked for. either that, or i'm a pansy. mine spread to another toe & then spread outwards on each toe until it hurt too much to walk.

but yes. we should have a club. they will make a movie named after us. robin williams will play an inspirational role in it.

it depends a lot on where on the foot the warts are. mine were directly on the ball of the foot, so there was a small amount of callus (callous?) already there which was not painful to slice at. if yours were on toes, i would guess there would be less callus to work with. ouch.

of course, i thought this was painful until i actually went to have some actual slicing (about 1/3 of each toe) done. & then all of texas heard my bitching for the next two weeks.
