Jul. 28th, 2003 09:54 amraheli came to visit on friday. we drove up to ipswich to visit benneth, who is interning at an organic farm. we cooked a panful of tasty vegetables, with handfuls of fresh basil. oh so good. and i drank whole milk that had been in a cow ten hours before! ipswich is very pretty, lots of houses from the 1600s & 1700s. i came home with a dozen bad mosquito bites (which are driving me crazy. crazy!) but benneth gave me a jar full of sunflowers to take home so that is okay.
.
kirk & i went to visit the kittens on saturday. it will be another five weeks before they are weaned & we can take them home. we held them & they mewed & could not stand up very well & slept with paws curled over their tiny faces. oh my. so cute.
mamie & milou. we cannot really tell them apart, since out of four kittens, there are three identical ones, two girls & one boy. ours are the two girls (we think).

Date: 2003-07-28 08:43 pm (UTC)and mom said something along the lines of being an overly-doting new parent or something, but then remembered that she should keep her "jesse and kirk are starting a family" comments out of her emails to you. i thought it was funny.

Date: 2003-07-29 05:14 am (UTC)aww. papa would love these kittens. i think they will be smart cats, as the mama cat is a very smart cat herself. also, the mama is on the small side, so i'm hoping ours won't become big fat cats when they're bigger :) pet food commercials always talk about how it's bad for dogs to be overweight - surely it must be the same for cats?
