new furniture!

kirk and i went on a field trip to ikea on saturday morning. it was a very surreal experience. after much searching, we bought this three-tiered monstrosity, which barely fit in the car--it's nearly six feet long. the only unfortunate thing about it is that our floor is so stupidly uneven that even with the special adjustable-height legs, we had to bolster each side with cardboard shims. oh well. i still think the whole thing looks nice, though i'm not done loading it up with books just yet.

yes. why does big furniture makes me feel like an adult? it's so different from little tables and chairs and shelves lugged in from the curb.
