a strange loose-limbed and constant unspoken sensation of having sex all weekend (thanks ak) except there is none, none to be found.

elaborate dreams of hospitals and frantic women and katie and flight. will elaborate monday.

& every time the phone rang i thought it was you.

LJ is slowly working less. and less.

I would come to your country, but my passport hasn't come yet. and it's secret. and there's no airstrip.

that's how people in Paris speak anyway.

ehhhh...
ahhhh...
tchtchtch.
mmmmmmmm.

room service - you can write down for them. or sound like you're being attacked - and they'll be there quickly.

yes, it is slow. we're getting cut off. bastard slow servers.

what do they mean when they say tchtch?

actually i'll just put you in charge of telephoning room service.

/me sacrifices more hard drive space to the internet gods.

tchtchtch - I spelt it badly. like - tut tut tut.

ok, I'l call room service. or take you to a restaurant - then we can just point at what we want.

i'll point at you.

i don't think you're on the menu, though. i'll confuse the already snobby waiters.

if you want me - why are we in the restaurant? restaurants are good foreplay. probably.

yes they are. it's achingly frustrating to sit across from somebody and watch them. and them watching you. i like restaurants. it makes what happens afterwards even better.

then we should go to a restaurant. would it be hard for you to get time off work?

maybe. probably. the problem is that if i don't go i won't get paid, which is the root of all this evil. filthy money. technically they could fill the position within a day, especially if my boss is gone right now. but i couldn't leave. rent is due soon. bills are due. stupid life looms up large in front of me, and i beg and duck and plead but i still pay.

hmf. from now on my country will issue no money. the end. only free trade from now on.

I got ALL my bills this morning. but none of them are too nasty, and I can pay them all tomorrow - which is nice.

if I could help, could you visit?

your country sounds good. but I don't have any potatoes OR fish.

but would i want you to help? no, at least i don't think so. this happens to me. guys get involved with me and then start offering me money. i don't want it to work that way. it's a touching idea, though. what would we accomplish?

we would do a lot of things. we might not fall in love. we might hate each other. i'd have to leave eventually and i might resent ever leaving. or i might resent ever arriving. you might resent me. there are so many ugly possibilities.

in a movie this would work great. i wish i wish i wish.

we can leave both potatoes and fish out of the whole discussion. why do you need potatoes or fish, though? all you need is a passport. and directions, because my country is in the middle of a vast wood.

for the free trade market. they usually trade potatoes and fish. I have an egg though.

ok, maybe you wouldn't want me to help. that's an "I want to look after people" thing. I can't help it. and I have a lot of money, and I like to think that helps me. that, by having a lot of it - I can remove some of the problems not having a lot of it causes.

I don't think we would hate eachother. I don't believe we wouldn't fall in love. and I don't think I would resent you. I'd like to think you would resent leaving. and I'd like to think we would cross that bridge when we came to it.

oh, right. free trade. eggs are good. i don't have anything to trade with. i should trade rice. maybe i shouldn't have to trade if i'm the sovereign anyways. hm. this country is a confusing place.

i'd like to think you're about to walk through my door. that's what i think. i'm sitting in this confusing little bubble of thought trying to decide if that scares me more or makes me happy. happy/scared? anticipation.

my housemate has a book at home called, "how to disappear" or something like that. all about how to erase the traces of your disappearance, financially etc. i should go home and read it. i should fake my death. like huck finn and tom sawyer we could go to my funeral and laugh and then float away on a raft together down the mississippi.

I don't think the rice would like you to trade it for eggs. we exploded it.
your country IS a confusing place, and it's only existed briefly. maybe you should close it for repairs.

what did you decide? happy or sad? it would be weird. if you turned up here now, I would be sitting here thinking "blue eyes, blonde hair, 5 4 - that could almost be jesse" but not quite believing it. and then you would show yourself to me somehow, maybe just by saying my name. and I think I would quit my job. and take you to a restaurant. and compliment you a lot. and there would definitely be some hugging.

I might call you tonight. I don't think I can not.

that sounds like an interesting book. I would like to read it. and float away on a raft - that would be nice too.

announcement:
as of today monday the 30 of july this country is hereby closed for repairs. please shift yourselves elsewhere, borders are officially closed. thank you.

that's much better.

please call. i'd like that. i can't promise the phone will be free, though--there's been frantic back-and-forth calls about this apartment we're trying to get.

for all you know i'm downstairs right now desperately begging security to let me up to see you. not long, now. clever stuff is peeking down at me from the stair with worried looks. i'm making quite a scene. he won't believe me that i left my passcard at home.

well, I'll call quite later (here) because Carling is coming round. I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping to have a frantic email conversation. still - we can have a slow email conversation. yeah?

I can hear everything that happens at reception. and there isn't anyone begging security to come up. if there was, I'd run down to see if it was you. and clever stuff, is the floor below there - so they'd be peeking up. I don't believe you left you rpasscard at home either. but I finish work in 60 seconds. wait for me outside, by the water feature.

i'm swimming in it. can't you see me?

why is it a feature rather than a fountain?

if we have these frantic email conversations much frequently i'm afraid the bandwidth police will bang down the door and arrest us. there ought to be an easier way of doing this.

hm. my plan to get in sneakily has been completely foiled.

i'm still waiting in the water. getting rather cold.

ewwww! don't swim in it! it's horrible!

it's not a fountain, it's a feature. like, lots of big slanted things... It's horrible really. I just thought it sounded romantic.

the bandwidth police and I have an understanding. they don't harass us, and I don't stop the internet from working.

please get out of the water. I'm sure you'll look very sexy with your thrown back wet hair, and your clothes clinging to your moist skin - but you'll smell :)

i think i've caught pneumonia. i'm going to the hospital.

but really, i am cold. it's still freezing in this office despite my wool sweater. i've been sitting in this same position for so long my legs are cramped. a chill in my calves.
