it is not so much snowing today as there is snow in the air, being stirred around by all the people walking. it doesn't want to touch the ground.

our landlord is selling the house. i am all xx'ing fingers that the new landlord does not hike the rent or kick us out altogether. we are model tenants! but still, we are nervous.

no no, the buyer would live in the downstairs apartment, where the current owner/landlord is living.

so far, so good - the new landlord (mark) is going to live in the downstairs apartment (currently occupied by our jovial haitian landlord, jean-baptiste boursiquot). and the only drawback is that our total monthly rent is going up to $2300. it was $2200 when i moved in, but jean dropped it to $2000 a month ago - probably out of guilt that he'd been lying to us about selling the property. in any case, we'll keep the low rent for a few months yet, as the sale does not go through until may, thank god.
