i came home to find amy's photo box project had arrived, and was sitting on the table. & i opened it and oh, it is very beautiful. such a wealth of images. now i have to go look at all the individual contributor sites to see their other work.

mmmmmm, art. it is so different and nice to hold in your hand what you have always viewed digitally. i think i will buy a frame that holds three or four sequential prints, and then display them in rotation. i want to be able to see them all the time.

i just read your poem "yesterday" on poetry.com. what a haunting poem! thoroughly deserved its prize. many congratulations, it must have felt fantastic! also visited your website - & read your writing - truly beautiful, you have a rare gift.

on a (far far) more prosaic note, is there any entry fee to enter the contests at poetry.com? i couldn't see mention of one but find that hard to believe :-)

thank you very much....i am still piecing the website together, sorry you had to see it in its unfinished state.

there is no entry fee for poetry.com. basically, they want you to enter for free so they can have your mailing address. soon after you enter online, you'll receive a letter saying 'congratulations, you've been chosen to be published etc' (unless your poem is obscene or gibberish or plagiarized). then they will ask you to fork over $100 to receive a copy of the book you're published in. so it's pretty much a scam, although you can enter every month for the $1000 prize. the $1000 prize is what makes you eligible for the once-yearly $10000 prize. heh. i'm an old veteran of this scam, now :)

well, hell, take the money & run, i say! and it's still a fantastic poem.

i kinda like seeing websites evolve from bare bones to full-fleshed models :-)

no email!? how cruel. i slept well, woke up, carved the chicken (ugh) and brought it to work. the potluck is today and not tomorrow, as i had feared :)

the officers are gone all morning, so it is even quieter than usual.

xo, my love.

I think you are next on fluidly, if you still want to write a poem.
