Jan. 24th, 2004 09:21 pmshopping!
1. new gray skirt & soft off-white sweater.
2. many groceries, including basmati rice in a small burlap bag, which always makes me happy.
3. a new bed frame + risers = our bed is now three feet off the floor. so lovely.
4. new oil cruet with a drizzle spout.
5. big bright lamp for the living room.
6. a big bookcase, finally!
not bought but admired: frenchy bistro juice glasses; mini salad spinner; glasses with little cartoon starfish and clams and shrimp and such, or zoo animals; little showercap thingies to put on lemon halves in the fridge; a cloth bag for keeping mushrooms fresh; a bunny cookie cutter; flexible silicone loaf pans; pricey cutting boards; enamel fondue pot; a heavy pottery creamer which i would probably never use since i already have four or five, but it was so pretty; big glass canning jars for flour and sugar and oatmeal and etc.
then we came home and rearranged everything. we have bought big kitchen furniture and done major rearranging in the last two weeks, so this means that now every corner in the house has been emptied and swept and then filled again, and nothing is where it was a few weeks ago, and it makes everything feel so much cleaner. i am very pleased. the kittens love sleeping on the newly high bed (as do i) and they especially love playing around underneath it. so now all we need is more art on the walls. big art. hm. i have three big-ish prints needing frames, but they are enough for one big empty wall in the bedroom and there are two others needing to be filled; k is talking about making a long and narrow triptych to go above the double-wide bedroom door and i would really like that. now, please :)
