sketchbook pages for a new painting, with zinnias and phlox and a pangram:
back in my quaint garden jaunty zinnias vie with flaunting phlox in handlettered
font like the other painting. the little consumptive naked child was originally a collection
of green brush-wipings, fortuitously in an adorable face. ha.

keeping occupied this weekend, so far. god bless comcast on-demand. have watched
muriel's wedding, breakfast at tiffany's, all the real girls, and currently, down with love. it
strikes me that this is an odd list of movies. lying about weddings, dating rats, cheating
in rural mill towns, and fluffy 60s love with a twist. my brain is all over the place.

it was very pretty, and not what i expected, story-wise. more complex than i'd expected, i guess. but it also hovered somewhere between absolute hate and a really good movie. some of the scenes were too emo for words, or so cliche indie-movie that i wanted to barf. hazy views of disaffected textile mill town! abandoned playground shots! i don't know. i can't decide if i really like it or not. i thought zooey dechanel was really good in the first half.

i am sorry i did not call. did you call my cell? i think it died this weekend, and my already-broken charger officially broke. the cats chewed off the plastic doohicky that takes it out of the phone! arghgh. i bought a new cord yesterday and i have a new resolution to keep it charged and use at least a few of those minutes per month :P
