now i am back at work after missing thursday & friday of last week, and i am feeling good. my resolution this week is to walk to work (thus avoiding any DNC subway delays) and bring nice clothes in my bag. so now i am not only awake and stretched and happy, i am wearing my lovely new butterfly skirt and feeling cute.

i am contemplating buying a pair of bloomers from [livejournal.com profile] nevers, because she looks so adorable in hers.

one reminder: litmus playground #1 is available for purchase, $2 via paypal or concealed cash or trade. you know you want one!

they look quite lovely on the two of you :) i have to see if it is in my budget for this month, because i'd have to tack on a little extra for you to make a size large pattern, i think...

i can walk to work, it takes about 45 minutes or so (which is exactly how long it takes if i take the bus and then the subway, more or less). there is a short (distance) route, but it takes longer (time-wise) because the sidewalks are really crappy & narrow & uneven bricks, and you can't walk very fast on them at all. i walk so infrequently in the summer because i am a wimp about getting sweaty in public. this week i have decided: fuck it.

it also helps that my bosses have returned from their big conference & have brought me a large bag of free stuff, including a tiny stuffed puppy, two tiny magic 8-balls, a miniature etch-a-sketch, more pens than i can count, two tshirts, and other assorted fun things. yay. if i didn't mind being a walking advertisement for student loans, i could probably construct an entire outfit from free stuff we've gotten. i have flipflops, tshirts, a tote bag. i could probably make a skirt out of the other tshirt...

ah yes, understood. regardless, thank you for mentioning me in your journal!

walking to work and avoiding subway hassles sounds rather pleasant. too bad it's totally impractical for me.

i am a wimp about getting sweaty in public, too; but it shouldn't be so bad since you will be changing clothes as soon as you get to work.

free things! whee.

ahahaha. i'll double-check on inches in the pattern and we'll clear this up :P i'm just guessing since i usually buy large pj bottoms---i've got Hips, capital H. i'm not concerned about the words of it, as long as the elastic sizing is comfortable!

hm, i will try to get a picture, maybe tonight. i tried to find it online (my mom bought it for me at kohls but it's not on their website). but my poor legs have been eaten by mosquitoes after visiting lovely swampy connecticut all weekend! also i fell down the stairs at one point (stupid moldy rainy outdoor carpeting + me wearing slippery-soled flip-flop) and i have a nice pattern of bruise-scrape-bruise-scrape running down my right arm. so you will have to pretend the skirt is being modeled by a crash test dummy :)

i am just waiting for someone to ask about the bruises on my arm, so i can sob dramatically and say, "i 'fell' down the stairs!" and thus imply that powerful persons have been shoving poor neglected me around all weekend, instead of grandmotherly persons feeding me good food, which is the reality of the thing.

I love Megan's bloomers because they are partly the inspiration for my new style I plan on bringing in. I call it "Immigration Chic". Wool socks, bloomers, layered skirts. You can just taste it, can't you? I know you can. :P
