Nov. 30th, 2002 10:28 pmoh i am back from texas. red soil red roof white kitten brown fields white cotton green tractor. there was this thanksgiving moment when we all stood in a circle and had the prayer bit (all heads down, all bodies separate and circled) and he kept repeating lord, lord. bless those who have come here from so far away, and get them back safe again. we had to look up and say amen soon after, and eat and be sociable, but i was all teary. (he says they liked me.)
the flight back was uneventful, except for a strangely invasive random search. i've had--what--a dozen of those before? but this one made me cry. take off your coat, please. it's my sweater, not a coat, i didn't say. then the woman patted down my underwire without warning and then, since i was the last person to board, there were maybe six or seven various gate attendants and security people watching me tear up and snivel into my sleeve. good job, they kept saying, have you ever been searched before? yes. it was humiliating and i don't know why. it was exactly like every other search i've ever had (minus the feel-up).
there is snow on the ground, just a little. it is blessedly not windy here. + malinda moves in tomorrow and she painted her room bright yellow and the closet robin's egg blue! the same color of my room! which means we will get along.
& oh there are so many pictures. soon.
