Apr. 10th, 2004 11:14 pmfriday after work, we went to see pussy on the house, a campy spoof adaptation of 'cat on a hot tin roof' by ryan landry, performed by a drag queen theatre troupe, the gold dust orphans. [the fabulous postcard ad for the show is here in another catabridgian's review.] it was in a makeshift basement theatre at this gay club downtown, machine---upstairs in machine is the ramrod club, and apparently the downstairs theatre thus gets its name, the ramrod center for the performing arts. ha ha. anyway, it was fantastically funny, and visually very well put together and very much worth the $25 ticket. if you are in boston, GO SEE IT. the gold dust orphans will be debuting a new production this summer in provincetown, "fatal erection" (from 'fatal attraction' bien sur). we want to take a weekend trip with a bunch of people from work to see it this summer.....lisa, who i work with, is their costume mistress.
.
i went to my new gym this morning for the first time, and stayed on the elliptical machine so long i was crippled trying to walk down the stairs afterwards. ahhh. the showers have nice soap and shampoo and although i didn't get up the courage to go in, the giant whirlpool tub is apparently a nude thing. hmm.
