Jun. 21st, 2007 02:55 pmwe are in oregon now.
we left boston on tuesday but we got stranded in jfk for 20 hours -- we slept on the floor in shifts, the poor cats mewing and mewing. counting the 4 hour delay leaving boston, we spent a total of 36 hours either in the airport or in airplanes. if we had instead gone home, we wouldn't have been able to get to oregon until friday; plus we'd already given the landlord the keys and cleaned up, so we were mostly homeless.
the only compensation to all this was watching a terrific lightning storm as we flew over iowa at 36,000 feet. balls and strikes and lines of lightning lighting up a cloudmass from the inside, over and over again for as long as i could keep it in sight. i also saw the sun un-set in the west when we took off from jfk.
last night i was so delirious when we finally got to my parents' house that i went to take a shower and just laughed and laughed when the water hit my head.
