a surreal morning
Oct. 5th, 2007 08:41 amthe neighbor's horses got out again this morning. i drove along the road at 7:15 and the three of them looked up guiltily from the other side of the of the road. it was misty and very grey. the road is very narrow and two cars can just barely pass -- the horses would have to move in order to me to drive past. i drove up to them very slowly, honked once, and herded them slowly back toward their house, until they moved to one side, at a lazy amble.
i felt a little outnumbered. the tallest one, a massive chestnut beast, stooped a little and looked at me reproachfully through the window, for disturbing their illicit roadside feast, before i drove off. i felt like i had been scolded for a killjoy.
i called home from the road, waking up my dad. i just herded three horses with my car, i said.
what happened to you this morning?
