in writing it, i was looking around at fabrics for a new project, and
found some fun large-repeat patterns at purl soho:


birds, trees, color. very fun and modern! am i delusional for wanting
to mix these kinds of prints with some of the more traditional stuff?
bah. our house is going to be a riotous clash of patterns and color
schemes and sensibilities, especially in the baby's room. i am not
picky enough to stick with any one theme, so maybe eventually one of
them will win out. old fashioned quilts and baby clothes on the one
side, versus modern prints on the other. oh well. i am so not a
decorator.
