Oct. 28th, 2004 12:04 amso much honking out in the streets! my gosh. i can't believe we won.
we kept sneaking out to the porch to see the eclipse, which is so beautiful. all evening it was beautiful---at five thirty there was a low layer of thin clouds catching the sunset and throwing the light over the entire golden yellow sky, so pretty.
now i guess we will try to fall asleep with eight million honking cars outside.

Date: 2004-10-28 02:42 pm (UTC)well, i have to justify it somehow, because it is so weird to me that i was watching a baseball game with interest, you know? i guess if i am going to watch any baseball, it ought to be one of the most monumental world series to ever be played, because it broke the curse. it is really nice to see grown men weeping in bars in pure joy and things like that, it opens a lot of camaraderie in the city. everyone at work today is exhausted (the game finished near 12:30am, then with honking i didn't sleep till after 1am) or hungover. ha!
yeah, the children thing is a long shot. maybe i'll have nephews to tell it to. i'm sure my uncles will be asking about it at thanksgiving in november...
