Kári is very zen about doing the dishes, but I usually have to prod him several times to get him to do them. I do dishes much faster, but without that certain quasi-buddhist calm.
I hate washing silverware, so I usually leave that to him. He has yet to really mind.
I gave an "other" answer but I think I forgot to click the "other" box. Also, I said we are equal opportunity re: dishwashing, but really it's that Conan is very crazy about dish washing. He wants it done immediately (you will not he's always in the kitchen cleaning up during the end of a party). I like to keep them washed, but left to my own devices I'll leave things overnight, etc. But I don't him to find himself doing ALL the dishes, so now we was them immediately. When I feel light competing with him, I run and get them first. When I don't, he does them.
yes, i have noticed conan's dish habits. i am astounded to see it, every time. you could bottle that and sell it.
also! i loved your answer about the cheese grater. i can only thank god we don't have one, because i remember desting it when i had to wash dishes as a kid.
I was thinking ... I answered equal-opportunity dish washing partner, but to be fair, I clean as I go when I'm cooking dinner. My partner, on the other hand, uses every implement, pot, pan, measuring device, etc., and leaves it all to clean up later (which half the time ends up as my job).
i don't actually wash dishes that often (as mentioned to you elsewhere). my only pet peeve is washing dishes when the sink is full of them. there is no where to move! no solid surface to scrub against! ugh!
silverware, though, i find pleasing. it's so small, unlike unweildly plates, and it just requires a simple wipe and a bit of glaring at if there's egg between the fork tines.
hello... i like your poll! i hate drying and put away. i wait till they're dry and sometimes i put them away. i don't like washing silverware much. my partner often washes after i cook or sometimes i cook and wash at the same time or sometimes it's just random and we take turns or one of us does them more. he doesn't like it when i leave the silverware. i don't like it when he puts the silverware in random places in the sink and in dishes before being washed, i like them all in the same place so you can stack the dishes. :)
thank you for ordering litmus playground #1! lp #2 should be out in the next month or so, hopefully.
dish washing would not be as much a hassle, i think, if we had more counter space. our kitchen is a glorified hallway. i am lusting after larger kitchens and larger apartments right now -- i am terribly jealous that you have your own house!
i will drop you an email when i mail it off...most likely tuesday or wednesday.
