today i received my first serial issue of stanford's free discovering sherlock holmes project. yay! so on the T this morning i had 'a scandal in bohemia' to read. it has the original strand magazine cover and the original illustrations and everything. it's not too late to subscribe!. free literature, mailed weekly to your home, and you can enjoy serial holmes stories just as they were originally published.

today is the hasty pudding woman of the year parade for halle berry. it will be passing right under my window, apparently. the hp theatre is under construction, so they are using the rieman theatre in agassiz house in the radcliffe quad, which is next-to-fay-house-but-one. i wish i'd brought my camera! though i'm sure it will be hard to see anything in the crowd, even from the third floor. there are already people in tuxedos wandering around, and security will apparently be quite tight.

heh. if only they could get him to do that soft-shoe dance from 'chicago'! that's the only movie i think i've ever liked him in, as i'm pretty sure i've mentioned to you before.

but it says if you want to receive the whole series after it finishes on april 14, email your address and they'll send the whole set! you should do it! if nothing else the illustrations of london are fun to look at on the cover.

we got an email last week informing us about various security protocols. all the gates will be manned or something like that. it attracts a huge crowd so i'm guessing the whole quad will be full. maybe i'll take some camera phone pics.
