ok. now i'm convinced that this has nothing to do with sports.

haha. you would not say that if you saw a bout played. it is an intensely athletic and demanding sport! the costumes just make it more fun :)

bikini mudwrestling is also an
intensely athletic & demanding sport, now
that i think about it.

yes but, any girl can go nuts and wrestle someone one day if they feel like it. but you can't just wake up one day and go nuts and be a really good rollerskater. it takes a lot of training! trust me on this.

but i am sorry your childhood shorts have been chosen for retro sexy girl appeal. these things happen.

also, you're in colorado now, right? you should go see the pikes peak derby dames play sometime, or the denver roller dolls. pikes peak are amazing players, they did really well in the 2005 national playoffs. i don't know much about the drd, though.

y'know. i might have to actually watch one of these games.

it's one of those sports that's kind of off my radar, & in reading
you talk about it, somewhat interests me. much more than watching
any high profile sport, like football/baseball/basketball.

tee hee :) but you could go see a game this summer, too! you could volunteer and get in free, even. i am sad because even though we will be in pdx for almost THREE WEEKS there are sadly no rcr games during that time. ah well. but i am bringing my skates so i can go to oaks park and practice!

if you want, we should get drinks while i'm in town! you can meet my artist friend jennie who lives in northeast.

we totally should. when are you going to be here? I'm afraid several of my LJ acquaintances are coming to town when I'll be away, which is all of july and the first week of august. I hope to catch you!

and I never knew about oaks park until last week! I just went there today. the park was closed but you could still walk in, and it was a little creepy that way, all the midway rides still, the vendors gated up. but skating lessons! $5 a lesson!

all of july and the first week of august! kirk and i will be there july 24-august 8. drat. well, we will drink to you and rob!

my high school rented out oaks park for our graduation party, it was crazy. the rink has a wurlitzer organ, or at least it used to, which was sort of famous. and also a hilly part to skate on, on the far end of the rink, like bunny slopes. very weird.

Wow! Sexy.
Ooh! Black rollerskates!

thanks! :)
most speed skates are black, it's pretty rare to see white skates in derby, those are more for figure rollerskating. though there is one girl on our team, rayna blood, who wears white skates with shiny red paint on the toes!

hee. just write "hearts" and put a semicolon after it. and put a space after the semicolon if you are entering multiples.

yay! it worked! and now you know how hearts work :)

the semicolon thing is the same thing you would use, with different words, to create other html symbols. like ° is "deg", or © is "copy". if you look up html symbol codes on google there are tons of resources listing different symbols.
