i like lucky, too -- is it obvious that the last name is a takeoff of 'shamrock'? it would be cool because my number could be 4 (four leaf clover!) and i could put a shamrock sticker on my helmet, etc.

Jen and I are really excited for you that you're a derby dame! We're going to have to coordinate our fall visit with a couple of bouts. When I read the news today, I realized that I had a coupla hundred possible derby names rolling around my skull, but the muse didn't hit me until this afternoon. Anyway, here they are.

wow, these are some AWESOME names! i love it. ophelia payne and electra cute are especially great. wow. i'm now officially registered as Ava Lanche (#17)!

it will be a while before i am actually in any games! but because of bout venue issues, our summer season won't be happening until the fall, so there's the tiniest sliver of a chance that i could end up on a team by then (though no guarantees if i'll be playing). we'll definitely let you know in advance, though! & i wish we had a video camera...kirk's nice one was stolen years before he met me, apparently. if you search youtube.com for roller derby, there is plenty of footage, even some of our travel team, the boston massacre!
