rage-inducing: pole-hogs on the T.

especially the young, touristy ones.

especially the lovely, gorgeous, tan, vain spanish girl today on the sardined red line from harvard, who felt the need to lean back from her pole position to look directly over my shoulder and check her hair in the window behind me every ten seconds. seriously. what are you doing? i hate you.

also, the next idiot to stand still in the middle of the fucking escalator like we're at the goddamn mall when i'm in the middle of my commute, thank you, i will chop your head off and set you on fire.

haha! that is awesome.

i am reminded of the story of you telling your mom and then your friend about how to cross streets properly, etc. i wish every tourist were required to take a five minute course in how to use the subway and the sidewalks! or that those "walk on the left, stand on the right" signs were posted by the escalators. sigh.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who had commuter rage today. i often want to shout at people "you can't stop there!" (and push, too). i daydream about red-hot sidewalks that don't allow for more than a couple second's contact with each foot...

Let's see-- woke up, splashed some water on my head, got dressed and got in the car about 30 minutes before I was supposed to be at work. Saw a lot of boxy Volvo wagons and a couple of hippie art cars, but mostly rusty old beater cars. I got mildly peeved at one person who neglected to use a turn signal. It was a little warm so I turned on the A/C and listened to a little Bob and Tom on the way in. I carpool with a coworker, so we laughed it up for about 15 minutes. Pulled into the slot in the parking lot adjacent to the building (I'm lucky to have a workplace right next to the free lot) and sauntered into work right on time.

It was a beautiful day on the lake, and I had a great day at work. I love everybody!

And THAT'S how we roll at Cornell University.

(ed. note: that last part about a great day at work is stretching it a trifle far...)
