views from gutman library last week.

yesterday i submitted a final research paper proposal and had sushi with liz; today i am going to write my immigration midterm and maybe carve the pumpkin and roast its seeds. (though this year i have no desire to attract children to our door.)

not to mention yesterday i drove for the first time since july, crossed a street alone, went up and down curbs with my one crutch and one cane, and somehow did not fall down in the puddles of pouring rain. though wearing sneakers creates a bubble of swollen skin around the ankle, it is far more preferable to the hated boot. also planned for this afternoon: packing away the boot in the closet where i can't see it. it can sit with my untouched roller skates. matter/anti-matter.

how productive! and freeing(!), even if a sneaker does cause a bit of swelling. and, mmm, harvard's campus makes me miss new england.

congratulations on your freedom & productivity. i'm about to carve my own pumpkin this afternoon. enjoy!

i've missed the NE foliage the past couple years... but at least washington's leaves change - unlike colorado's - so i'm feeling more at home. :)
you enjoy as well!

how ambitious are you when it comes to pumpkin carving? I admire your ability to roast the seeds. I'm not a very good seed roaster.

well, it turns out i wasn't actually ambitious enough to carve it that night! kirk had to work late and carving a pumpkin by myself is no fun :(

maybe we will carve an emoticon pumpkin :D

i actually don't remember how to roast them, but i do it whenever we carve a pumpkin and they always turn out so delicious. i will report back on my method!
