aslantoh! secretly the garment district & dollar-a-pound store is the reincarnation/parallel universe component of the big bang! which was a warehouse of vintage & used goodliness in portland. i remember being so sad when it closed, maybe four years ago. they had a case full of enviable rhinestone jewelry. they had crinolines tacked up on the wall. they had bottomless bins of chiffon scarves. i loved that damn store. but today i found its doppelganger. the only differences was? no crinolines.
we sat in the heap o' clothing and found many interesting things. r found three matching curtains of dark rich purple velvet. also some interesting shirts. i came home with a red wool jacket with big red buttons, a blue tshirt, hospital scrubs pants, and 2 soft pillowcases with rose patterns (for quilting? possibly?). also a shirt that reads our lady of lourdes school.
also 4 juice glasses, for the bring-me-the-paper-dear hour of cocktails. oh perfection.
unfortunately, partway through our romp of spending and despite pending frolics at the soup shop from this and schemes to pay a surprise visit to rob down in the amgen dungeon, i was doubled up with vicious cramps. we came home instead.
i just drove her down to the tstop. goodbye, r. i'll miss you.
