works like a charm.
Dec. 10th, 2001 09:33 amfirst. livejournal as a hotel and i realize i've been playing outside x's door. his friends are waiting for him? they sneer at me as i stand there twisting my sweater in my hands. he can see me through the fisheye but won't open the door. the girl with caramel hair, she says i'm just here for the drugs.
second. jr is across the street and says something. liar is all i call across to him. i try to cross the street but there are too many cars. & k has issued an edict on our behalf: no contact for two months, but he won't explain it to me. later i arrange chairs to avert the marauding raptors. they are the size of ostriches.
*
yesterday d and l drove me home, 84 and 90 were snowy and all the trees racing by outlined by white snow and (as promised) some interesting music on the stereo. later we get crepes on arrow street and he goes off to find a bathroom? as predicted, he returns with a cd. fucking addict. cambridge is wet and bricky, slushy streets of the melting snow. it's a new place, with all the wind keeping people indoors. places are particularly crowded and all the shops look good enough to eat, bright colored lights and faux snow.
home is lovely; and j put up lights & pine boughs on the mantle.
and now and now? i have six days before new york. seven before reykjavik & bjork (oh my oh my).
