aslantit just so happens that we finally duped verizon.
it just so happens that we cooked an intensive dinner last night. and had a proper dinner party, with the table cloth and the dinner plates. and had bailey's in our coffee when it got to be too late to open the 3rd bottle of wine.
it just so happens i'm not nearly as dramatic as j, today. just so. certain portents have come and gone and we are none the worse for the wear.
m's voice on the phone last night. i want to disappear; instead i hand it over if not gracefully then at least smoothly. a mild and unlingering flavor of regret.
s used my word: permafrost.
tomorrow: b-side? the coop? i want a proper cocktail. i want someone to dance with when the ella flips on for the fourth time in one evening and there's nothing left to do but give in.
last night i dreamed i had to put together an elaborate miniature wedding party folded paper set. with the tiny plastic dinnerware. something depended on this. we woke to lashing rain and wind, and a grey day that is not lifting.
