aslantyesterday j and i tried to needle c into a sexy red top for her date with m, which she refused to do; and on the tv, dismissed (your new guilty pleasure) dimly echoing what we would later ask her excitedly, returned from the tapas bar and the cold. our c is so very hot, it was so fun to watch m watch her when he walked in the door. and he brought her a tiny pumpkin!
awake and alert: out of the business of the past few weeks? fewer dreams, fewer daily tremors of doubt and neglect. i cross my fingers.
i took the big mirror off the window yesterday, to put the pink succulent on the windowsill instead: and strange to reclaim the second window after so long. i wonder about the second floor neighbors next door, if they know me by my lack of clothing and my yellow towel in the mornings. o so scandalous i am so tantalizingly mundane...
early early c and i woke up and went for a walk. the sky swept up over the green fields and the docile trees and roofs, pink and then orange, the scatter of mare's tails, the bright dawn on the jet trails.
and news of news: it is trash and recycling day in belmont, and everybody puts their old furniture at the curb. and what did i find? what lucky and fortuitous object? a dresser! we circled the block and then lugged it home, an arduous trembly task [scraping walls bumping stairs j awake looking askance us fatigued but dawn-glowy and turning slow in the stairwell thump onto the carpet]. and also a small bookcase, because i can never have enough of those.
i am the luckiest girl in the world!
something is up with j [v.2]; forgot to ask j this morning what that was about last night. also: thought i saw mg on the train. j reminded me he lives here. how mortifying. i hope he is nowhere near, to remind me of my past stupidities.
