aslantno, really.
i've killed so many green iridescent flies today that my arm hurts. dan came home and helped. we swore a lot & the windowpanes rattled. he used a credit card bill. i used a folded annie's shellsncheese box. last night i killed maybe 20 or 30, but this morning there were maybe 30 more, and then dan and i killed another 20 or so. it's disgusting. i itch everywhere, paranoid. the windows are smeared over and the windowsills are littered with their fat, dirty bodies.

i bought two pairs of maryjanes. i keep dressing up, undressing up, dressing up again. when i was in walgreens, l'oreal had a makeover lady there. so i was, um, madeover. she was from bulgaria and told me in her soft voice that she wanted to be a police officer, later. & kept asking why impassively. i'm pale. why. i don't like being sunburned. why. it's impossible for me to tan. why. well, i'm pale. why. she did not show me a mirror afterwards and i had to wander around frantically avoiding people's eyes before finding a mirror in the hairbrush aisle. i didn't look weird. i looked dressy. grownup blush. but i was wearing kneehighs and the pale slip lace showed from under my skirt and i just fiddled with my rings and everyone stared on the subway, but this time i didn't panic. i stared at the walls and look at the ads, which said stop reading this advertisement! and depressed? you may be eligible for participation in a mass general hospital research study on depression!!
i just finished aimee and jaguar & now i'm reading paddy clarke ha ha ha, which i started reading months ago in a bookstore and never finished.
