this is a friend of my dad's from work, who flew to romania to marry his online love. he kept a blog of all the ridiculously complex procedures it took in order to get the marriage license and her visa for the u.s. i think she looks very glamorous in her fur-trimmed coat. they had a ten-hour five-course feast for 30 which cost the equivalent of $312, and they rented a dj for eight hours for the equivalent of $28.

i think it is all very romantic. it took an entire month to complete the marriage + visa process, even with a small civil marriage. there was lots of bribing of corrupt officials and dramatic faxing back-and-forth between embassies. unfortunately, his little blog has no details about how they met, which is mostly what i wanted to hear about.

ahh, well, his actual blog has full names and other personal details in it. he only wrote it to keep his work friends updated, and i promised my dad not to link to it.

her hair is some kind of red-orange, think. the highlights show up strangely. these are just screen captures from a video.

oh ok. that's pretty crazy. my mom's friend's son moved to romania to marry a woman that he met on the internet. he had never been there before, but she visited the us. they own an enormous amount of property now on the side of a mountain.
