oh! what did you use to record it? i have a number of tapes half-full of train and street-noises (and must remember to take the recorder with me to london next week, for passing buskers) -- i've lost my microphone, though, so half the noise is tape-machinery. yours sounds surprisingly rumbly. </nose>

i have an iriver mp3 player with a built-in recording feature. it is quite nifty---converts the files automatically into mp3 and everything.
