shoe problem, filth problem
Mar. 26th, 2009 01:56 pmi have a problem. here are pairs of wearable shoes i own:
sneakers for walking
red keen sneakers
black suede anne klein flats
only one of these is appropriate work wear and does not earn me multiple "i'm silently judging you" glances from my boss (unless it's friday).
other shoes i own: were cast out when they caused me to fracture my foot, or don't fit since my ankle injury, or are hippie sandals for summer only. (who are all these women who have shoe problems? maybe they will donate some of their shoe budgets to me. surely i'm not the only girl with this problem.)
.
meanwhile, the springiness of spring is really starting to get springy around here. i have a vase of daffodils on my desk. and today i was seized by the urge to clean and started making lists of things that Must Go and things that Must Be Cleaned. i think we need to buy a vacuum, after years of relying on brooms and a carpet sweeper. the other day i was thinking, wouldn't it be nice to get out my yoga mat and do stretches in the living room? and then i was reminded of the state of our carpet (one of those no-pile ikea things) and nearly wanted to puke just thinking about sitting down near it. even after using the carpet sweeper thing. gross! i can't borrow one from my parents because they don't own one, their new house has a built-in vacuum system.
so it must be time to buy a vacuum, which we promised ourselves for the new house, but why not now? filth must be cleansed!
