	litmus playground #2 covers all laid out to dry.
	kirk cleaning the ink plate.
	kirk's poemzine, all printed and folded and bound and ready!

how long did it take to complete each zine?

kirk's took maybe 2-3 days of formatting, fine-tune editing. insides were done on the photocopier & that took only a couple hours. the cover took maybe 1.5hrs to typeset, 2-3hrs to print?

mine took 5-7 days of writing/editing/formatting etc. insides photocopied, ditto, a couple hours. cover took over 2hrs to typeset, 2-3hrs to print.

i should mention, each zine has our logo/website printed on the back, which was something pre-typeset that i have ready all the time. that was maybe 3-4hrs of typesetting labor i had done previously.

is the process itself during individual sessions a slow one? akin in any sort of way to the slowness of say, a darkroom?

mostly i'm curious if it's something that requires patience. & hands that don't shake.

yes, it is quite slow. the typesetting process, slotting in all the letters and then getting the spacing correct takes ENORMOUS amounts of patience. and needle-nosed tweezers for the small stuff.

and it does indeed require steady hands. virginia woolf's husband leonard was famously unable to do typesetting because of a condition which made his hands shake constantly. i talk about the woolfs in the new zine :)

buttons of the colophon would be lovely! i like that idea. currently it is a bit big (i think) for a 1", maybe i could shrink it down on the copier at work and mail you a set of images to cut up and use? i don't think i have a scan of it and the pictures are way too blurry.
