last night i turned in a paper i wasn't proud of. but today i interviewed harvard's vp of policy and she was very nice! it went very well. some of the content will go into a research paper i'm hoping to propose for the student research conference in february.

a good thing: today and yesterday i have been able to walk around without my cane, outside and inside, for quite a while.
a bad thing: i think i'm coming down with a sore throat.

[ you're a brave soul. i am too timid and inept to front conferences, even the works-in-progress one held specifically for research students. which, in part, i guess is why i am soon going to have failed so spectacularly at all of this. i hope, very much, that the sore throat buggers off and doesn't escalate. i wish i could bring you some tea with honey and lemon. ]

i wouldn't be able to do it if it weren't in a panel format! i'm proposing to do a panel jointly on student discipline with a colleague who is writing on the recent protests at gallaudet university (only college for the deaf). so some of the pressure is taken off :)

i'm sucking down zinc lozenges and drinking my orange juice. i hope it doesn't get any worse! i really don't have time to get sick right now.
