putting up pictures at goldfish pond
Jan. 7th, 2007 04:49 pmjust finished hanging all of these. random art, photos of kirk and i, favorite places. the ones grouped together in multi-frames are from five years ago, when i lived in belmont --- all of saint and angel statues in the mount auburn cemetery. i took them using the beautiful old canon my grandfather gave me, and which now makes an unfortunate glass-grinding noise when i turn the zoom lens. and also the shutter refuses to click. alas. but at least now the whole series is framed and hung in the living room, where there used to be a large and sad looking bare wall. i rather like how this looks.
as always, it takes me two years of living in a place before i finally get enough art up on the walls to make it feel like home. (two years is also the perfect amount of time, coincidentally, to get tired of a place and want a new one.)

Date: 2007-01-07 11:42 pm (UTC)while in texas, we learned that kirk's 20-year old sister jolynn, newly married but still incredibly young and barely employed, had a three-bedroom house with a gorgeous kitchen, large back yard and hot tub for $68,000. their mortgage was a whole five years long!

Date: 2007-01-08 05:13 pm (UTC)randomly, do you have any downloaded mac programs that you consider essential? that make it prettier or more useful? i'm curious.
letterpress videos: i have one paper/one exam left to write in january, but when i'm done i'll have two whole weeks of time just for me. i promised myself i would clean up the print shop and make something, so i will take a bunch of videos then, but also others in the meantime, if it is sunny and other bits of the house are looking particularly pretty :)

Date: 2007-01-09 02:25 pm (UTC)i love the media screen...do you use your remote with it? kirk and i watch movies in bed using the remote, it's very cool.
do you use youtube for videos? i saved one in imovieHD last night and tried to upload it, but even with our relatively fast internet connection, it just sat and loaded for ages and never completed. do i need to save it in a different format? imovieHD doesn't appear to give me an option! or maybe i need to use a cord instead of the wireless? but i've never had a problem with that before. wah!
