toys that run and squeak

our cat woke us up last night at 3:45am, chasing a mouse around the bedroom.

it hid in kirk's folded pants on the floor, poking its tiny nose out and then hiding again. pippa is such a good mouser! kirk caught it under a glass and deposited it in the neighbor's yard, intact. i think it was just scared, though maybe a little brain damaged. poor little thing. it's hard to think of it as vermin when it's so cute!

well, she made it so tired/scared that it couldn't do much. i think she is bored because she hasn't got to kill outside since last summer. but also, i don't want to clean up blood in the house! i'm glad it lived :)
