not good. the lowest price on orbitz i can find for christmas flights, even counting stinky unpaid days off of work: $298.

feh. they need to lower their prices. that's just ridiculous. my parents tried to threaten me a couple weeks ago: that the trip to see you might rule out the possibility of me returning home for christmas, because of stupid money issues...

but you know what? they'd buy my ticket if i told them i couldn't afford it. by december i'm sure they'll be all sappy and missing me and etc.

sigh. it's too early to even begin thinking about christmas, i think. i'm impatient for autumn, never mind christmas stuff.

yes, you paid for the ticket. but i won't be working that week, and there's all the incidental stuff like transportation, etc. you know. the little costs that are unexpected when you travel.

i'll have to be a miser, a monk, an austere and unspending person. and there are, after all, plenty of things to do that are completely free. like watch clouds. feed ducks in parks. snicker at tourists. sit and talk on benches. sit and be quiet on benches.

that sort of thing.
