the desired tenderness
Oct. 11th, 2001 09:29 ami set up the dresser! with the bookshelf and mirror on top! and pretty cloths covering their tops! this is all that matters.
the most fun was putting things into the shelves, pretty things to look at. my boxes and jars and pictures. and my va savoir postcard prompted j to ask this morning (poor darling snuffling and still achy with sleep and fever chills), "are we going to see that?" to which i replied ecstatically "yes!"
i made the miso soup last night, which made the kitchen smell like the sea, and which was successful even if i was forced to make some of the crumbled silk tofu disappear. it was like curds. slopping on the plate. and also there were udon noodles which instructed me to boil them in plentiful waters until they reached my desired tenderness.
this was a shock, needless to say. i had no idea the udon cared for me so.
i woke early to vivid dreams but now all i remember are rooms and noises. i nearly convinced myself not to wake up for a run but i did, and i went nearly a mile. which is good, considering i haven't run at all in months& months& months. i was too early for the sunrise, but the dim streets were pretty anyway. my teeth ache when i run; i feel like i should spit blood but it's just spit.
i took 6 vitamins this morning just in case i may have picked up a wee bit of j's nasty flu. i refuse to get sick. i refuse! this weekend is the castaldi canuck cholesterol festival (aka canadian thanksgiving) and i will loathe every born relative if i am sick! not to mention i will infect the peter pan passengers.
[i think last night? you were driving circles/ around me]
