pomegranates are emmenagogues: they speed along the menstrual cycle.
the ink used to write the torah scrolls contains pomegranate leaves.
some scholars believe that it is only due to vague translations that the fruit of knowledge in eden was an apple. most likely eve ate a pomegranate, as persephone did.

...though the idea of a pale ink that turns dark is immensely appealing. i will begin hunting for gall and green vitriol (which sound like the ingredients for a long-simmered anger).
