it was 104° here yesterday, and will be again today, so this morning i went out to check the garden and turn on the soaker hoses. all week i've been eyeing the first cherry tomato on my sweet millions plant. it was the first tomato to fruit in the whole garden, and had been slowly turning orange.

well, this morning it was finally bright red, so i picked it. it was a sweet and tasty mouthful, and well worth the wait.

i can't wait until the other varieties start to ripen. yum.

would you be up for a strange little collaborative writing project involving multiple people?

i am a huge benjamin fan. haven't read the intro to arcades but will try to look it up soon. i like this idea and i am totally in. though the writing process itself and the invitation process (marketing process?) seem separate to me and i am more enthused about the writing than the scattering of clues. only because i have no ideas. beyond stickers.

while i was waiting for our stuff (& our books) to arrive, i got an itchy eye & went to the local library & checked out about 25 books, the arcades book of which had been mentioned by someone on goodreads. it's a friggin' mammoth, unfinished monster of a book. but i'm down with what's suggested about it not having to be a novel, or in some ways antithetical to ways of thinking about what finished or polished writing has to be.

the invitation process is so i can keep a cap on other people getting in, & because i'm looking at people who kind of have distinct voices of styles, based on lj &/or other writings.

the marketing process isn't...marketing per se, as it's not a product i want to sell. it's more like a thing or artifact i wish to bury, more like a game really. i'm amused by the idea of say...something like 6 of us writing some strange beast & burying a copy somewhere in alabama to potentially be found 100 years later, really really confused by what it is. but that's all cat 'n' mouse stuff i'll do on my own, unless other people feel compelled to help.
